Job Summary

Envista is seeking a talented and innovative Sr. Data Scientist to join our IT Data & Analytics team. This role requires a Data Scientist who can provide thought leadership and strategic direction on how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) can be utilized to optimize Commercial, Human Resources, Financial, and other operational needs. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders using an agile project management framework to plan, design, and execute projects leveraging AI and ML technologies.

The Sr. Data Scientist will develop strategic capabilities in AI/ML, designing and implementing strategies that build the technical and business process foundations necessary for understanding and leveraging AI/ML and analytics at Envista. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build operational AI/ML capabilities, define operating metrics, and enable predictive analytics. Staying current with advancements in machine learning models and framing business questions from a data science perspective are essential. The role involves designing and applying advanced modeling solutions in statistical analysis, bioinformatics, data automation, data mining, machine learning, and data visualization.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of AI, ML, and Generative AI solutions to automate and improve business processes.
• Collaborate with Commercial teams to understand their needs and provide insights to enhance sales and marketing strategies.
• Partner with G&A functions (Finance, HR, IT, etc.) to identify opportunities for process improvement through data-driven solutions.
• Plan and execute the full lifecycle of machine learning models.
• Utilize tools such as Databricks, Python, Snowflake, and Tableau to analyze data, build models, and present findings.
• Stay updated with the latest in AI, ML, and Generative AI and apply this knowledge at Envista.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data science processes, models, and algorithms.
• Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on AI and ML best practices.
• Build an AI community within Envista to share best practices, project insights, and promote adoption of data science methodologies.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience in AI, ML, and Generative AI models and technologies OR
• Master’s degree in Data Science with 10+ years of relevant experience OR
• PhD in Data Science with 6+ years of experience in advanced analytics teams at a Medtech or tech company.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL.
• Experience with data analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Tableau.
• Experience operationalizing algorithms into production systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
