Job summary

Duolingo is hiring a Senior Data Science Manager to lead the data science function within Growth. You will own product data science, forecasting, and BI for User Growth, guiding 6–10 data scientists and partnering with cross-functional teams—Engineering, Product, Design, and Finance.

The role requires deep technical fluency in forecasting, ML, and experimentation, plus strong leadership to grow the team and raise standards across the company.

Qualifications

• Experience leading 5+ person data science teams.
• Strong background in forecasting, causal inference, experimentation, and ML modeling.
• Proven ability to translate complex analyses into actionable insights for senior leadership.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python or R; comfort with analytics tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set the analytical vision and roadmap for User Growth data science.
• Lead a team of 6 to 10 data scientists and foster growth.
• Embed data scientists within product development teams.
• Design, execute, and interpret experiments to drive user growth decisions.
• Develop and maintain user growth forecasting systems and dashboards.
• Drive BI strategy and analytics infrastructure within Growth.
