Job summary

Duolingo is hiring a Senior Data Science Manager to lead the data science function within the Growth pillar, owning forecasting, analytics, and BI for User Growth. You will manage 6–10 data scientists, coach career development, and expand the team over time.

You will set the analytical vision, partner with cross-functional leaders, and drive experiments to improve user acquisition, activation, retention, and reengagement. Strong leadership and communication are required.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with causal inference, experimentation, and ML models.
• Proven ability to hire, grow, and manage a high-performing data science team.

Responsibilities

• Set analytical vision and roadmap for User Growth data science.
• Lead a team of 6–10 data scientists and grow the team.
• Design, run, and interpret experiments to improve user growth metrics.
