Duolingo is hiring a Senior Data Science Manager to lead data science for User Growth, owning forecasting and business intelligence. You will manage 6–10 data scientists across staff to junior levels, coaching career growth while expanding the team and raising performance standards.

The role partners with Engineering, Product, Design, and Finance to deliver data-driven growth strategies and credible forecasts for leadership decisions.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience leading 5+ person data science teams.
• Applied industry experience with causal inference, experimentation, and/or ML models.

Responsibilities

• Set the analytical vision and roadmap for User Growth data science.
• Lead a team of 6 to 10 data scientists and grow the team over time.
• Embed Data Scientists within product development teams with strong stakeholder connections.
• Design, run, and interpret experiments to inform user acquisition, activation, retention, and reengagement.
