Job summary

DraftKings is seeking a Senior Data Science Engineer for Personalization to transform data into real-time decisions that influence how millions of customers experience our Sportsbook & Casino platforms.

You will lead end-to-end data science projects, design ML models for personalization, and partner with Engineering, Product, and Analytics to deploy solutions at scale while mentoring junior data scientists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in data science with ML and statistical modeling.
• Strong Python proficiency and experience with data manipulation and visualization tools.
• Experience deploying models to production and collaborating with engineering teams.

As a Senior Data Science Engineer for Personalization, you'll shape how millions of customers experience our Sportsbook & Casino verticals by transforming data into intelligent, real-time decisions. You'll sit at the center of our Consumer Data Science Team, building machine learning solutions that power personalization, content optimization, and product innovation. Your work will directly influence how we understand and engage our users deeply embedding data science into our content engine and platforms. In a fast-moving, technology-driven environment, you'll lead high-impact initiatives that define what relevance looks like in a sports and iGaming entertainment.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end data science initiatives, from problem definition and modeling to production deployment and performance monitoring.

• Design and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms that solve complex business challenges and enhance user engagement.

• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Analytics teams to integrate scalable data science solutions into live production systems.

• Drive innovation in personalized game recommendations and page layout optimization by experimenting with new algorithms and data-driven approaches.

• Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights that empower stakeholders to make informed decisions.

• Deploy and maintain production-grade Python software.

• Mentor junior data scientists, champion best practices, and elevate the team’s technical rigor and impact.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of professional experience in data science, with deep expertise in machine learning and statistical modeling.

• Strong proficiency in Python, along with experience using data manipulation and visualization tools.

• Experience deploying models into production environments and collaborating closely with engineering partners.

• A proven ability to break down complex problems into scalable solutions and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to cross-functional audiences and senior stakeholders.

• Hands-on experience developing personalization algorithms and applying them to content delivery or user-facing platforms.

• A collaborative, innovative mindset with a passion for using data to build impactful products.
