The Crown Is Yours

As a Data Engineering Manager, Customer, you’ll lead a team building scalable data solutions that power critical capabilities across our customer-focused organization. You’ll combine people leadership with hands‑on technical ownership, developing talented Data Engineers while staying close to the code and shaping technical direction. Working alongside Technical Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Delivery Managers, you’ll strengthen the data foundations, reporting capabilities, and AI‑enabled development practices that help teams move faster and make informed decisions. You’ll set a high bar for accountability, engineering excellence, and consistent delivery across the team.

What you’ll do as a Data Engineering Manager, Customer
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Engineers, supporting career growth, performance, and a collaborative team culture.
  • Guide your team in delivering high‑quality, scalable data solutions across the customer domain while balancing speed, quality, and evolving business priorities.
  • Advance AI‑enabled software development lifecycle practices already embedded in the team’s workflow, using them to improve engineering efficiency and accelerate delivery.
  • Stay hands‑on with the codebase, provide architectural guidance, and help your team navigate complex technical challenges.
  • Set technical standards that make data solutions scalable, testable, reliable, and high‑performing.
  • Lead technical design discussions and clearly communicate decisions, tradeoffs, and recommendations through written and verbal communication.
  • Build a healthy, accountable engineering culture grounded in open communication, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
  • At least 2 years of technical management experience, including direct people leadership, career development, coaching, and performance management.
  • A strong Data Engineering background with hands‑on SQL experience across data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, Airflow, Terraform, Python, and Datadog.
  • Hands‑on experience with agentic coding workflows, including using multi‑step AI development loops to build, test, and ship code beyond AI‑assisted autocomplete.
  • Technical depth paired with strong mentorship, team‑building, and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience building or implementing a Customer 360 or Customer Data Platform is a plus.
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities, take action, and continuously improve how your team delivers.
