Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Data Science Advisor to lead the POTFF Enterprise Data and Analytics function, directing Data Engineers and Data Scientists to deliver analyses aligned with government priorities.

The role requires advanced expertise in statistics, programming (Python/R), and data governance, with the ability to communicate findings to senior leaders and shape enterprise performance measures. Location: CONUS sites.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline with coursework in statistics, programming and quantitative analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience and 2 years supervising/leading analysts; hands‑on data science experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Enterprise Data and Analytics function; plan, prioritize, assign and review work of Data Engineers/Scientists.
• Serve as the principal analytical advisor to the POTFF Director, Domain Leads, and HFC.
• Design and oversee program evaluations and experiments; ensure data quality and defensible methodology.
• Establish analytical standards, data governance, reporting methodologies, and performance frameworks.
• Translate government priorities into analytical requirements and support data-driven decision making.
• Prepare reports and briefings for government leadership; provide consultation on data collection and interpretation.
