Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Data Science Advisor to lead the POTFF Enterprise Data and Analytics function. You will coordinate Data Engineers and Scientists, set analytical priorities, and ensure methods are sound and reproducible for government-directed priorities.

You will design evaluations, manage analytics backlog, and deliver decision-support products to senior government leadership while ensuring compliance with IL5, HIPAA, and privacy requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline with coursework in statistics and programming; or a bachelor’s with 10+ years experience.
• 7+ years data science/ statistics experience with 2+ years supervising analysts; hands-on 3+ years.
• Advanced proficiency in Python or R and in SQL; ability to deliver models to leadership.
• Experience leading a data science/analytics team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Enterprise Data and Analytics function and manage the analytical backlog.
• Advise on research methodologies, study design, and program evaluation for leadership.
• Design and oversee government-directed program evaluations and ROI analyses; ensure defensible methods.
• Establish and maintain data governance standards and reporting frameworks in coordination with government data governance.
• Translate government priorities into analytical requirements and support the strategic planning for POTFF programs.
• Prepare and deliver reports and briefings to government leadership with clear recommendations.
