Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Risk Manager to lead data risk governance and remediation efforts across the Risk Management organization. You will guide data management strategy, monitor data quality, and influence enterprise data policies while collaborating with multiple lines of business and stakeholders.

The role requires strong experience in data management, risk/compliance, and data analytics tools, with responsibilities spanning governance, reporting, and policy development.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ Degree or Military Experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in data management, data quality assurance or data warehousing.
• At least 3 years of experience in business systems analysis, audit or project management.
• 5+ years in data management, data quality or data warehousing.
• 2+ years in anti-money laundering, compliance, or risk management.
• 1+ year in reporting tools (Tableau, QuickSight).
• 1+ year in data inquiry and extraction (SQL, Python, Presto).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with enterprise data standards and procedures for assigned areas.
• Provide data risk guidance within and beyond the organization.
• Influence data risk policies and procedures at the enterprise level.
• Develop relationships with line of business and data management stakeholders.
• Create strategy for data management aligned to policies.
• Monitor and report data management efforts, identify gaps and remediation.
• Design data management processes, procedures, and tools.
• Design and implement local data governance processes.
• Manage change impacts for data management initiatives.
