Job summary

Duracell Power Center, a Duracell Authorized Licensee, is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer - Data Reliability for an on-site role in San Jose, CA. You will design and maintain data platforms to ensure reliable, scalable energy storage monitoring systems and robust pipelines.

You will work with cross-functional teams to optimize data quality, observability, and incident response, owning both pipelines and runtime to deliver accurate customer-facing data.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend engineering with real production ownership
• Python async services (FastAPI/SQLAlchemy or equivalent) and PostgreSQL at scale - time-series experience a strong plus
• AWS containers and infrastructure-as-code (ECS/Fargate, CloudWatch; CDK or Terraform)
• Experience integrating and debugging third-party APIs that misbehave
• Fluent, critical use of AI coding tools - generates fast and verifies; runs the test before trusting the claim
• Evidence-first habits - asks for the denominator, distrusts green dashboards

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data platforms for high reliability, scalability, and performance
• Develop and optimize software components and robust data pipelines
• Manage infrastructure and database environments; monitor system health and data integrity
• Troubleshoot complex issues across applications, infrastructure, and data layers
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations to align platform capabilities with needs
• Own pipelines, runtime, and alerting in a multi-tenant environment
