Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead the Data Protection Program in Worcester, MA or in a remote work capacity.

The role focuses on DSPM, DLP, information governance, and enterprise data protection across cloud, SaaS, endpoint, and on‑prem environments. The candidate will partner with Security, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, IT, Data Governance, and business stakeholders to mature data protection capabilities and scale controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of information security experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on data protection initiatives.
• Experience administering enterprise data protection, governance, or compliance platforms.
• Experience implementing DLP, information protection, data classification, and compliance solutions.
• Experience collaborating with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Audit teams.
• Ability to lead enterprise-scale security initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing administration, enhancement, and growth of the enterprise Data Protection Program.
• Develop and execute roadmaps aligned with business, regulatory, and security objectives.
• Define data protection maturity metrics and reporting for stakeholders.
• Design and maintain enterprise data classification frameworks and handling standards.
• Implement and manage protection controls, labeling, encryption, and data discovery capabilities.
• Partner with HR, Legal, Compliance during investigations and audits.
• Architect and integrate data protection tools with SIEM, case management, and platforms.
