Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Data Protection in a hybrid role in Boston to define strategy, design policies, and partner with stakeholders across IT, Legal, and business units. The role focuses on DLP, data classification, rights management, and Microsoft 365 security capabilities.

The candidate will lead policy implementation, oversee controls, and support audits while advancing an enterprise Data Protection Program within Governance, Risk and Compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 6+ years of information security experience with focus on DLP or data protection.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 security technologies.
• Experience designing and optimizing enterprise DLP, data classification, and labeling policies.
• Experience analyzing DLP incidents and developing mitigation strategies.
• Experience with change management in a global environment and working with engineering teams.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to partner across functions.
• Preferred CISSP, CISM, CIPP, or Microsoft Security certifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain DLP policies across endpoints, email, network or web, cloud apps and data stores.
• Tune policies to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.
• Lead testing, validation, and deployment of new DLP controls and policy updates.
• Manage DLP incident workflows, escalations, and exception processes.
• Identify data protection risks and implement proactive monitoring controls.
• Coordinate rollout of sensitivity labels and rights management in Microsoft 365.
• Monitor label adoption, effectiveness, and compliance with data handling policies.
• Collaborate with data owners to classify and protect sensitive information assets.
• Support program strategy, key metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist audits with evidence of controls, monitoring, and compliance reporting.
