Job summary

Justworks, based in New York City, seeks a Sr. Manager, Data Platform Engineering to lead our core data platform strategy and execution.

You will guide architecture and partner with Analytics, BI, and Data Science to deliver scalable data capabilities that drive informed decisions. You will manage a distributed team of data engineers, set high craft standards, and communicate platform priorities to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering with 5+ years in PaaS data stack tech.
• Deep Snowflake expertise, data governance, and cost controls.
• 5+ years in engineering management, leading multi-team groups.
• Strong SQL, Python expertise; AWS and IaC proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of Justworks' core data platform — pipelines, infra, orchestration.
• Lead architectural decisions on cloud data infrastructure balancing scale, cost, reliability, security.
• Drive platform observability, data quality, cost optimization, incident management, and SLAs.
• Set engineering standards — testing, documentation, CI/CD, code review.
• Mentor engineers, recruit data talent, and foster growth.
