Job summary

MISUMI Americas is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own our Snowflake warehouse, dbt project, and data pipelines. You will be the primary data engineer, shaping analytics-ready models used by Operations, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Product, and Customer Support.

Work hands-on with Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, Git/GitHub and AI-assisted workflows. Lead design, testing, and deployment from intake to production while setting safe, scalable practices for the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a data-related field.
• 10+ years designing, building, and operating data pipelines and warehouses.
• 5+ years production dbt projects and 5+ years with ETL/ELT tools.
• Experience owning and leading a data platform, and working with regulated data (e.g., CUI).

Responsibilities

• Own Snowflake: access control, warehouses, cost and performance monitoring.
• Design, build, and maintain dbt models and the semantic layer with tests and documentation.
• Build, operate, and monitor ELT pipelines using Fivetran and related tools.
• Lead intake-to-production work, scoping, estimating, and status reporting.
• Mentor analysts and engineers on SQL and dbt best practices.
• Work with remote, cross-functional teams across time zones.
