Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines across on-prem and cloud environments. You will be a core Snowflake developer, optimizing data models and pipelines for AI-ready inputs while guiding a small team of engineers and analysts.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, strong Snowflake performance tuning, and expertise across batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns in cloud environments (Azure/AWS).

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience building or maintaining semantic layers and structuring data for AI, LLMs, or natural-language search capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement across on-premises and cloud sources.
• Serves as a core developer for the Snowflake data platform, supporting performance, modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 NLP interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams to build data products safely.
• Provides mentorship to one data engineer and guides analysts in engineering practices.
