Job summary

Race Roster North America Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to partner with the Data Architect in turning a greenfield vision into an enterprise-grade data platform. You will design Snowflake-based compute/storage, build ELT pipelines from RDS, APIs, and webhooks, and expose a curated gold layer for BI tools like Metabase.

You’ll own data lineage, governance, and cost discipline, while enabling AI initiatives and rapid prototyping with Python notebooks and lightweight apps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering with business-focused outcomes.
• Experience managing cloud infra costs (FinOps) in Snowflake environments.
• Establish clean engineering standards around data lineage and quality.
• ELT architectures with Snowflake and clear data modeling.
• Advanced SQL (window functions, JSON/VARIANT, profiling).
• Snowflake concepts, streaming ingestion, governance features (DMFs, lineage).
• Orchestration of pipelines via Snowflake Tasks or Airflow/Dagster/Prefect.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Data Architect to build greenfield medallion data architecture.
• Design compute/storage in Snowflake for cost efficiency and ROI.
• Build ELT ingestion pipelines using Python frameworks (e.g., dlt) from AWS RDS, APIs, webhooks into Snowflake.
• Develop bronze-to-gold transformation layers exposing gold to BI tools (Metabase).
• Set up Snowflake foundation with Snowpipe, dynamic tables, and serverless orchestration (Tasks).
• Create AI/ML pipelines foundations for model training, feature stores, cloud AI integrations.
• Prototype data apps with Python notebooks, DuckDB, Parquet/Arrow; build dashboards.
