Job summary

Cohere Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead data platform initiatives, owning end-to-end data pipelines from ingestion to transformation. You will work across teams to ensure data products are performant, compliant, and trustworthy, while mentoring peers and shaping platform governance.

This remote-first role may require travel to Boston, MA for onboarding and occasional in-person meetings and events.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software development with a strong focus on data infrastructure.
• Track record of building production-grade data systems with robust APIs and governance.
• Experience with testing, version control, observability, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of complex data pipelines and infrastructure across multiple domains.
• Mentor junior engineers and raise team-wide engineering standards.
• Enforce data quality, schema validation, and observability across data products.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and evaluate tools for platform scalability and governance.
• Write clean, maintainable Python and SQL code following best practices.
• Monitor and optimize production workflows using Airflow, dbt, AWS services, Kafka, and Iceberg/Parquet.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and compliance stakeholders to meet business needs.
