Job summary

Buildertrend Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer-Data Platform to lead the migration of our data platform onto a modern Databricks lakehouse built on dbt, consolidating legacy systems into a single source of truth.

You will design pipelines bringing data from SQL Server, Salesforce, Gong, and more, enabling analytics and AI tools with trustworthy datasets. You will drive medallion-architecture, governance and data contracts while partnering with data science and AI teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science or data analytics.
• Hands-on production experience with Databricks and dbt in a production environment.
• Experience migrating a data platform to a modern lakehouse and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Strong SQL, Python and API skills with large datasets.
• Experience with data quality, governance and data contracts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Databricks lakehouse with a medallion architecture.
• Build ELT pipelines with Databricks, dbt and Fivetran from SQL Server, Salesforce, MongoDB, Gong, etc.
• Migrate from legacy systems by refactoring pipelines and re-pointing BI tools.
• Improve reliability with log-ship replication, ingestion and automation.
• Build data quality checks and freshness monitoring using dbt and Unity Catalog.
• Define data access controls and governance policies; handle privacy requests.
