MGM Resorts International seeks a Senior Commercial Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data products powering analytics and decision-making. You will own curated data enablement, observability, and governance within Databricks, ensuring trusted, high-performing datasets across the enterprise.

The role requires leadership in defining KPIs, and building production-grade pipelines, while optimizing performance and costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years in data engineering or analytics engineering; 3+ years with Databricks or Spark.
• Expertise in Databricks, Delta Lake, Lakehouse, and Unity Catalog governance and data certification.
• Strong Python, PySpark, and SQL skills; experience with analytical SQL and distributed processing.
• Experience with data quality, observability, SLAs, validation, lineage, and self-healing pipelines.
• Knowledge of data modeling, partitioning, file compaction, and performance tuning for large-scale environments.
• Ability to translate requirements to business data solutions; familiarity with Terraform and orchestration tools like Airflow or Databricks Workflows; hospitality/gaming analytics preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead cross-functional efforts to define and maintain certified business definitions, KPIs, and metrics across data domains.
• Design and maintain enterprise-grade curated tables and high-performance data models in Databricks.
• Optimize data pipelines for partitioning, file compaction, compute use, and costs to boost performance and stability.
• Enforce Unity Catalog governance, including ownership, permissions, certification, and access workflows.
• Establish data reliability standards with freshness SLAs, completeness thresholds, and drift detection.
• Own incident response, pipeline triage, and root-cause analysis for data failures and anomalies.
• Coach teams on certified datasets and governance practices; promote trusted data usage.
