Job summary

MGM Resorts International is seeking a Senior Commercial Data Engineer to lead data-product design and governance across the enterprise. You will build scalable, reliable data products in Databricks, ensuring trusted datasets and observability align with business needs.

You will collaborate to define KPIs, optimize data pipelines, and enforce data ownership and access controls while mentoring teams in best practices and modern data engineering.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience.
• 3+ years building production workloads in Databricks or Spark environments.
• Strong expertise in Databricks, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog governance.
• Advanced programming in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Experience with data quality, observability, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional efforts to define certified business definitions, KPIs, and metrics.
• Design and maintain enterprise-curated tables and high-performance data models in Databricks.
• Optimize pipelines for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Enforce Unity Catalog governance, data ownership, and access workflows.
• Establish data reliability standards including freshness SLAs and schema drift checks.
• Own incident response and root-cause analysis for data issues and metrics.
