Coinbase seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Platform to help centralize data for analytics, ML, and end-user experiences. You will contribute across storage, processing, and internal apps that make data available to every team.

You’ll own data services including warehouses, data lakes, orchestration, and real-time processing, and partner with analysts, ML engineers, security, and compliance to build scalable patterns. This role is remote-first with quarterly in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in backend software engineering with production data systems experience.
• Proficient in Python, Go, or Java for building data services.
• Experience with data infrastructure patterns and security/observability.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, and operation of data services spanning warehouses, data lakes, orchestration, batch and streaming processing.
• Build and maintain data integration SDKs used by internal services and product teams.
• Deliver self-service applications to monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines.
• Architect end-to-end data security, access controls, quality tracking, cataloging, lineage and auditing.
• Collaborate with analysts, ML engineers, security, and compliance to create reusable data platform patterns.
