Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Data Platform team. You will define and lead the technical strategy for data ingestion, transformation, warehousing, streaming, and serving systems across the organization.

You'll drive architecture for AI-ready data pipelines, enable near real-time data for fraud detection and analytics, and partner with product, security, and privacy teams to prioritize platform-scale initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and operating large-scale distributed data infrastructure.
• Proven ability to own end-to-end technical strategy and architecture.
• Strong systems thinking across data lifecycle, focusing on performance, cost, security and privacy.
• Experience designing data systems for ML training, real-time inference, or AI workloads.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for Data Platform across ingestion, warehousing, streaming, and serving systems.
• Architect data infrastructure to support AI/ML workloads and multi-agent AI architectures at scale.
• Drive near-real-time data availability for downstream analytics and fraud detection.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional partners on priorities and tradeoffs.
• Represent Data Platform in OKRs, architecture reviews, and long-term planning.
