Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking an experienced data platform engineer to design, build, and maintain mission-critical data and analytics infrastructure. You will work with a cross-functional team, mentor other engineers, and help set best practices and technology choices that power core Klaviyo functionality and data-driven insights.

You will design scalable systems in production, write high-quality code, review designs, and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience in a software engineering discipline
• High skill in at least one modern programming language
• Experience provisioning infrastructure with Terraform or a similar infrastructure-as-code tool
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in a cloud environment
• Experience with Linux operating systems
• Experience with OLTP and OLAP databases
• Experience with high-volume data processing and storage systems

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain mission-critical data and analytics infrastructure
• Write technical design documents and create system infrastructure
• Write high-quality code and operate large-scale systems in production
• Review other engineers’ designs and code
• Provide technical mentorship to engineers on the team and across the engineering organization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
