Job summary

Meta is seeking a senior Data Engineer, Analytics (Technical Leadership) to lead the data foundation and analytics across platforms. You will architect large-scale data solutions, drive governance, and collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to deliver impactful insights.

You will own end-to-end data architecture, build scalable models, and optimize ETL processes while aligning with privacy requirements and security best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with extensive data warehouse experience.
• 10+ years in data warehouse space.
• 10+ years experience with ETL design, implementation and maintenance.
• 10+ years experience with object-oriented programming languages.
• 10+ years experience with schema design and dimensional modeling.
• 10+ years experience in authoring SQL statements.
• Experience analyzing data to identify deliverables, gaps and inconsistencies.
• Experience communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients.

Responsibilities

• Proactively drive the vision for data foundation and analytics for cross-platform components across Instagram.
• Own data architecture for large-scale projects, evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs.
• Create and contribute to frameworks improving data logging and data infrastructure.
• Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Software Engineers.
• Define and manage SLA for data sets in ownership areas.
• Implement security models per privacy requirements and governance processes.
• Design, build, and launch data models and visualizations supporting multiple products/domains.
• Solve challenging data integration problems using ETL patterns and diverse data sources.
• Own and optimize production data processes and code performance.
• Improve pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems for easier data artifact development.
• Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities.
• Mentor team members with actionable feedback.
