Job summary

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer focused on analytics to build scalable data artifacts and visualizations for product and business teams. You will collaborate across software, data science, and product management to deliver data-driven insights and governance across Meta's vast data platforms.

You will own data architectures, optimize logging, and guide data products from ingestion to visualization, while mentoring peers and driving impactful data solutions across multiple domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience with data in roles such as data analyst/engineer.
• 7+ years with SQL, ETL, data modeling and at least one programming language (Python/Scala/Java).

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, evaluating design and cost tradeoffs.
• Create frameworks to improve logging data and collaborate with data infrastructure to triage issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and data scientists to understand data needs and visualize insights.
• Define and manage SLAs for data sets in owned domains.
• Determine security model based on privacy requirements and governance processes.
• Design and launch data models and visualizations supporting multiple use cases.
• Solve complex data integration problems using ETL patterns and diverse data sources.
• Own production processes and optimize code with advanced algorithms.
• Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems for easier data artifact development.
• Influence cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities and impact.
• Mentor teammates with actionable feedback.
