Job summary

Bank of America in New York is seeking a data engineer to build AI-ready data pipelines and a scalable data lake backbone. You will work with product owners, data scientists, and business partners to productionize GenAI solutions and govern data while driving platform standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Finance, Statistics, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience building and operating production-grade data pipelines and platforms.
• Advanced SQL expertise, deep proficiency in writing, optimizing, and tuning complex SQL and stored procedures across large-scale relational and distributed datasets.
• Strong programming background in Python and Spark, with solid Object-Oriented design principles and production-quality code.
• Modern data pipeline orchestration with Apache Airflow to build, schedule, and monitor ETL/ELT workflows.
• Data Lake and modern platform architecture with Data Lake concepts, dimensional modeling, and lakehouse patterns.
• Experience delivering Data & AI solutions in large, matrixed organizations with scalable architecture strategies.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with business and technology partners.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; explain complex concepts simply.

Responsibilities

• Build the data foundation for AI; design and deliver end-to-end pipelines and Data Lake architecture using Python, Spark, SQL, and ETL practices.
• Enable AI products through data; collaborate with Product Owners, Data Scientists, and business partners to productionize GenAI solutions.
• Set platform standards; define architecture and patterns for data and AI across the org with focus on reusability and cost.
• Engineer production-grade solutions with OO design and scalable pipelines.
• Own the data-to-insight lifecycle; review data-flow and ensure insights reach users.
• Champion data governance and quality; partner with stakeholders.
• Drive projects from idea to production in fast-paced environments.
• Keep the customer first; deliver solutions that work for internal and external customers.
