Job summary

Bank of America is building a modern AI-enabled data platform at GPS, seeking a data engineer to design, develop, and scale end-to-end pipelines and lakehouse architectures. You will partner with product owners, data scientists, and business teams to productionize AI/GenAI solutions and set standards for data and platform architecture.

You will work on real-time data processing, governance, and scalable data delivery while balancing cost, performance, and reusability for a large matrixed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Finance, Statistics, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience building and operating production-grade data pipelines and platforms.
• Advanced SQL expertise with large-scale relational and distributed datasets.
• Strong Python and Spark programming with OO design principles.
• Experience with Apache Airflow or similar schedulers for ETL/ELT workflows.
• Data Lake concepts, data modeling and lakehouse patterns.
• Experience delivering Data & AI solutions in large organizations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build data foundation for AI and deliver end-to-end pipelines and Data Lake architecture.
• Enable AI products through data with Product Owners and Data Scientists.
• Set platform standards for data and AI across the org.
• Engineer production-grade, scalable pipelines with robust ETL/ELT practices.
• Own data-to-insight lifecycle and ensure insights reach users.
• Champion governance and data quality principles with stakeholders.
• Drive projects from idea to production in a fast-paced environment.
• Keep customer needs at the forefront and deliver practical solutions.
