Senior Data Platform Engineer — AI & Cloud (GCP)

Job summary

DelRicht Research is building a modern, AI-native data platform within a network of clinical research sites across the United States. This high-ownership role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure and AI-enabled workflows from source systems to operational tools.

You will collaborate with data scientists and stakeholders to deliver scalable, automated solutions using Vertex AI, Document AI, and LLM tooling.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering or platform engineering.
• Strong, hands-on BigQuery experience with data modeling and SQL optimization.
• Fluency in Python for data pipelines, API integrations, and automation.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines in a cloud environment.
• Hands-on GCP experience across Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and IAM.
• Experience building and maintaining REST API integrations and webhooks.
• Strong understanding of environment management, CI/CD, and deployment practices.
• Experience with cloud IAM governance and security considerations.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to write complex analytical queries.
• Ability to translate business requirements into production-ready data solutions

Responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve DelRicht's centralized BigQuery data warehouse with schemas and models.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines across clinical, operational, financial, and CRM sources.
• Design dev/staging/production environments across the data platform.
• Establish data governance, documentation, and pipeline monitoring standards.
• Optimize BigQuery performance and cost management.
• Partner with analysts to build reusable data models for cross-functional use.
• Design and maintain GCP infrastructure (Cloud Run/Functions/Storage/IAM).
• Build and own CI/CD pipelines for data and application deployments.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code and environment parity.
• Develop AI-powered pipelines using Vertex AI, Gemini API, Document AI, and related services
• Create integrations across CRIO, Salesforce, Greenhouse, and financial platforms
• Develop automation to replace manual spreadsheets with scalable systems
• Build internal tools and lightweight apps to support operational teams
• Write backend Python/Node.js and, where needed, simple frontend interfaces
