9amHealth is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and evolve the data platform powering clinical operations, BI, and AI initiatives. You will build and maintain pipelines, data models, and analytics tooling in a fast-paced startup environment.

The role emphasizes production-quality Python and SQL, Looker/Tableau dashboards, and collaboration with clinical ops, product, and finance teams. Global team with San Diego and Vienna sites; flexible work options available.

Qualifications

10+ years of professional data engineering or hybrid data/backend software role.
Expert-level Python for production pipelines and reporting systems.
Expert SQL including window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning.
Hands-on AWS services: Glue, S3, Redshift, Athena, IAM.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows in Python on AWS.
Write production-grade Python code for DWH logic and data transformations.
Develop analytical data models for self-service BI and analytics use cases.
Build dashboards/explores in Looker/Tableau and maintain data governance.
Contribute backend code in Java/Spring Boot or Python for data features.
Promote AI-assisted coding practices and tooling adoption within the team.
Write and optimize SQL assets across Redshift, Aurora/MySQL, and Athena.
Operate AWS data infra including Glue, S3, Redshift, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, IAM.
