Job summary

cginfinity seeks a Principal Data Engineer to lead architecture, design, and delivery of data platforms and analytics solutions for clients. This hands-on leadership role bridges executive client conversations, solution architecture, and mentoring high-performance data teams.

The ideal candidate translates business objectives into scalable data strategies, communicates complex concepts clearly, and guides discovery through implementation and operationalization across diverse cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in data engineering or related disciplines.
• 3+ years in technical leadership or consulting leadership.
• Proven enterprise-scale data platform delivery.
• Strong SQL and at least one modern language (Python/Scala/Java/C#).
• Experience with cloud data platforms and data governance.
• Proven ability to mentor teams and present to executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture and delivery of data platforms for client engagements.
• Advise client stakeholders and partner teams on data strategies and roadmaps.
• Facilitate discovery sessions, architecture reviews, and solution design discussions.
• Translate business goals into scalable data architectures and plans.
• Define secure, scalable data ingestion, storage, and analytics pipelines.
• Remain hands-on in engineering work and review code.
• Architect batch, real-time, streaming data solutions for client needs.
• Design modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric, etc.).
• Develop data models, APIs, semantic layers, and data products.
• Promote DataOps, IaC, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Lead cross-functional delivery teams and mentor engineers.
• Support pre-sales activities and client-focused demonstrations.
• Stay current on data, cloud, AI trends and assess value.
