Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Data Architect to lead end-to-end Databricks solution architecture, ensuring PHI-safe data patterns and secure integration with enterprise cloud architecture. You will define standards for data movement from Bronze to Gold and lead patterns for entity resolution and claims data handling.

You will work with analytics leaders to translate platform capabilities into actionable terms and mentor data engineers on coding standards, CI/CD, and Gold-layer development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of progressive IT experience in development, infrastructure, or systems analysis, and 4+ years of solution or enterprise architecture.
• Must obtain one or more of the following certifications within one year of hire: Microsoft Certified Azure Solution Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional, Google Professional Cloud Architect, TOGAF Certified Architect, or ITIL Intermediate.
• Must have proven experience in cloud-based healthcare solutions, including AI/ML deployments. Strong understanding of healthcare compliance, interoperability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of enterprise-scale healthcare solutions using Azure, AWS, and hybrid architectures.
• Architect AI/ML-enabled applications for predictive analytics and operational efficiency.
• Define and enforce architecture governance and security standards.
• Develop cloud adoption roadmaps and landing zones; ensure secure integration.
• Evaluate vendor solutions balancing innovation, cost, and compliance.
• Create architectural artifacts and roadmaps for enterprise consumption.
• Provide thought leadership in AI ethics and data governance.
• Collaborate with executives, clinicians and IT leaders to align tech with business goals.
• Deliver value through architectures and guidance in partnership with senior leadership.
