Job summary

Duluth Trading Company seeks a Principal Data Platform Engineer to own the architecture, reliability, and evolution of the enterprise data platform spanning analytics and master data management. This senior role enables analytics, reporting, AI, and data integrity across the company.

The position is remote within the continental United States (excluding CA). Candidates must reside in an approved state and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
15+ years IT, 5+ in senior/lead roles.
Expert SQL, Python, and data modeling.
Deep data stack expertise: GCP, BigQuery, dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, Looker, Hex, Dagster, Airflow.
Terraform on GCP experience.
Experience with Pimcore MDM.
US work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Own the architecture and operations of the enterprise data platform across ingestion, transformation, warehousing, and BI.
Define master data architecture and govern Pimcore item and location data domains.
Lead integration between Pimcore and the analytical platform (BigQuery).
Set standards for data modeling, pipeline design, and platform integration.
Drive cost optimization and operational reliability across the data platform.
Partner with executive stakeholders on data strategy and architecture.
