Opiniion is a SaaS, AI-first company reshaping how businesses understand and act on customer feedback. We're looking for a Staff Data Architect to own the architecture of our data platform end to end, from ingestion to analytics.

You'll partner with our Staff Software Architect to drive the technical direction, balance the current foundation with the new platform, and mentor data engineers while building scalable, governed data pipelines on Databricks.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture
• 7+ years in architect or technical leadership
• Deep expertise in Databricks or Snowflake
• Strong background in data modeling methodologies
• Experience designing statistical models for analytics
• Hands-on ETL/ELT with orchestration tools
• SQL and Python proficiency; Spark/PySpark
• Data governance frameworks incl. quality, lineage, access control
• Familiar with BI/semantic tools (Omni, Looker, Tableau)
• Cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Understanding security/compliance in data platforms
• Exposure to AI/ML data readiness is a plus
• Excellent communication, bias for action, collaborative leadership

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of the data platform including ingestion, transformation, storage, and semantic/BI layers
• Co-drive the architecture and rollout of the new platform with the Staff Software Architect
• Balance current data foundation with the new platform during transition
• Design data models and standards across the platform
• Develop correlation, causation, and statistical models for insights
• Lead platform decisions across the data stack on Databricks
• Architect data pipelines feeding BI tools and AI/ML use cases
• Establish data quality, governance, and lineage practices
• Translate reporting needs into scalable data architecture
• Mentor data engineers through design reviews and documentation
• Evaluate data tools and platform investments; build vs. buy
• Support AI/ML initiatives with well-modeled data foundations
• Collaborate with engineering leadership and stakeholders
