Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Data Platform team to set the technical direction for ingestion, transformation, warehousing, streaming, and serving systems. Qualifications

• 12+ years building and operating large-scale distributed data infrastructure.
• Experience owning end-to-end data strategy and architecture across teams.
• Ability to optimize performance, reliability, cost, security, and privacy.
• Experience with ML pipelines, feature stores, real-time inference, or AI workloads at scale; familiarity with Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for Data Platform across ingestion, transformation, warehousing, streaming, and serving systems.
• Architect data infrastructure to support AI/ML workloads and real-time capabilities.
• Lead data infrastructure evolution toward near-real-time data availability for fraud detection, analytics, and reporting.
• Secure senior leadership alignment on technical priorities and tradeoffs across functions.
• Represent Data Platform in architecture reviews and long-term infrastructure strategy.
