Job summary

New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp is seeking a VP Data Officer to lead data engineering, architecture, and governance. This hybrid Concord, NH-based role directs architecture, platforms, and controls delivering reliable data products for analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities include building a scalable data warehouse/lake, establishing data quality governance, and driving multiyear roadmaps while fostering strong teams. Negotiable salary based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, software engineering, information management, or a related technical field.
• Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise data engineering, data architecture, platform management, or data governance.
• Experience leading technical teams and supporting production data environments in a complex organization.
• Success developing enterprise data strategies and multiyear technology roadmaps.
• Experience implementing modern cloud data platforms, such as Snowflake, including source-system integrations and connections to analytics tools.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT, APIs, structured and semi-structured data, cloud platforms, and modern software delivery practices.
• Working proficiency in SQL and programming concepts to assess designs, evaluate engineering quality, and guide technical decisions.
• Understanding of information security, privacy, regulatory compliance, model risk, business continuity, third-party risk, and data lifecycle controls.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or another regulated industry strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set enterprise vision, standards, and roadmap for data engineering, architecture, integration, modeling, orchestration, testing, observability, and production support.
• Lead the design and evolution of secure, scalable cloud data warehouse and lake environments, balancing performance, reliability, interoperability, and cost.
• Establish practical governance for data quality, ownership, stewardship, metadata, lineage, access, privacy, retention, and change management.
• Build an effective operating model for data, prioritization, solution architecture, engineering delivery, support, and lifecycle management.
• Deliver trusted, documented data products that enable business intelligence and analytics teams to focus on insights and decision-making.
• Evaluate generative and agentic AI capabilities, establish appropriate guardrails, and sponsor responsible use cases.
• Develop high-performing data engineering and infrastructure teams through coaching, clear expectations, succession planning, and professional development.
