Job summary

Request Technology, LLC is seeking a seasoned Business Intelligence Engineer in Houston to design and support data models powering reporting and analytics. The role partners with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to build scalable data structures across enterprise systems.

You will lead data modeling efforts, help shape ETL processes, ensure data quality, and optimize performance while adhering to governance and security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Hands-on experience with dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, SCDs, and Erwin.
• Expertise with SQL (including Transact-SQL) and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with data pipelines using ETL/ELT and Azure Data Factory to load data into analytics data marts, warehouses and lakes.
• Familiarity with BI platforms such as Power BI and Qlik Sense.
• Exposure to Python, PySpark, Databricks, or languages like Java or C# is a plus.
• Understanding of data governance and security.
• Domain knowledge in HR, Finance, or Risk Management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Data modeling design to support reporting and analytics across enterprise systems.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data structures and solutions.
• Support ETL development to move data into BI platforms and warehouses.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and reliability across systems.
• Optimize data models and database performance for efficient querying.
• Maintain documentation of models, schemas, and data flows per governance standards.
• Help design data security controls and access controls.
• Develop and use SQL queries for ad hoc analysis and validation.
• Participate in Agile workflows across analysis, development, QA, and UAT as SME.
• Build knowledge of business data domains to support strategic initiatives.
• Stay current with evolving data modeling and analytics technologies.
