Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Sr. Data Engineer / Data Modeler to design and implement scalable data models and robust ETL/ELT pipelines within its Enterprise Data organization. The role focuses on Medallion Architecture, dimensional modeling, and metadata-driven approaches for enterprise data warehouses.

The candidate will build canonical data models, optimize Snowflake SQL, and align data structures with AWS data services and analytics frameworks to support big data initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics or closely related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Kinesis, Lambda, Athena, Glue, EMR).
• 7+ years of experience in Enterprise Information Solution Architecture, Design, and development.
• Experience with JSON or XML data modeling and with Git/GitHub workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Medallion Architecture and dimensional models (Star/Snowflake).
• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries in Snowflake or similar platforms.
• Align data models with ELT/ETL pipelines and analytics frameworks.
• Ingest data from relational databases, files, and web services; develop data pipelines.
