Description du poste

Senior Data Marketing Solution Analyst - Full Time (Remote)

Our Organization

CDP, a Boston-based public benefit corporation, uses the collaborative fundraising model to improve the operational efficiency and revenue generation capacity of the public media system. CDP currently provides more than 230 NPR and PBS public media organizations (PMO’s) with outsourced marketing, data analytics, fundraising, and technology services. These services help PMO’s raise more net income, grow their donor files faster, lower their fundraising costs, and free up development talent allowing stations to better focus on local engagement. Since its inception, CDP has delivered more than $1 billion in membership revenue for local PMO’s participating in its services and has become the most widely adopted Public Media service in the history of public media.

Just as CDP is committed to supporting public media organizations around the country, we are equally committed to supporting each of our team in their own professional development.

The Business Data Operations Team (BDO)

Business Data Operations is one of six teams within the Fundraising OPS Department, which supports critical fundraising functions for CDP including the Member Service Bureau (MSB) cooperative, Partner Services, and Audience Activation Platform (AAP). The BDO Team is primarily responsible for data marketing operations including data delivery for the MSB cooperative's direct mail program, which sends more than 10 million+ solicitations annually on behalf of 50+ public media clients. Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Senior Data Marketing Solution Analyst builds and improves scalable omni-channel marketing data models, metadata frameworks, and process automations driven by marketing strategy and service requirements. This role’s work includes identifying opportunities to enhance existing model efficiency and design, test and implement new models that support evolving and growing CDP marketing strategy for the MSB Cooperative, AAP and Partner Services.

This role works closely with the Data Marketing Specialists on the BDO team to provide production data delivery and support coverage when needed and collaborates on data model development and process improvements. This role also partners with Quality Control to identify opportunities to automate manual processes and continually improve error rates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate marketing strategy, fundraising, and audience selection and segmentation requirements into reusable SQL code and components in Snowflake.
  • Identify, develop and maintain workflow-based automations for repetitive, manual, high-volume, or error-prone processes involving data preparation, quality control, file generation and handling, and analysis, reducing manual effort without sacrificing data quality or operational controls.
  • Design validation, exception handling, monitoring, alerts, and recovery procedures so automated processes remain reliable and supportable after implementation.
  • Partner with service owners and business stakeholders to define data requirements, business rules, success measures, and acceptance criteria for new or enhanced models.
  • Manage assigned data projects from discovery through implementation by defining scope, work plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, testing activities, and status communications, while coordinating across BDO, Marketing Strategy, Service Teams, Fundraising OPS, Tech Solutions, and other partners to keep initiatives aligned and moving forward.
  • Explore unfamiliar datasets, identify appropriate tables and fields, and determine how data sources relate before developing outputs.
  • Evaluate query logic and results for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and alignment with documented business rules; troubleshoot discrepancies by tracing query steps, comparing source records, and identifying likely causes.
  • Assess query performance and make improvements to filters, joins, calculations, and query structure; elevate platform or pipeline issues when appropriate.
  • Document reusable data sources, assumptions, query logic, business definitions, validation steps, known limitations and implementation decisions so work can be reviewed and reused.
  • Communicate findings, risks, and data limitations clearly to marketing, operations, quality, and technical partners.
Essential Functions
  • 40%: Data marketing model and framework development - design, test, document, and implement SQL-based models in Snowflake supporting audience selection, segmentation, quality control, reporting, reconciliation, and marketing operations needs across the MSB coop, AAP, and Partner Services.
  • 25%: Process scale and automation - use Snowflake components, SQL, Python, and approved workflow tools to identify automation opportunities and design, implement, monitor, and continuously improve solutions that scale, reduce manual work, errors, and cycle time.
  • 20%: Data delivery and quality control - provide coverage when needed for data delivery and production work. Research data questions, perform root cause analysis, validate model and automation outputs, troubleshoot discrepancies, and communicate findings and limitations.
  • 15%: Collaboration and projects - participating in regular, ad-hoc and project meetings with Fundraising OPS, Marketing, Tech Solutions, and other cross functional teams, including the database conversion team and other data working groups. Participate in planning sessions for on-boarding new stations, campaign kick-offs, vendor and client interfacing (as applicable), and production meetings
Required Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated ability and hands-on experience working with large data sets to build audience selection, segmentation, a/b split logic and integrating scoring data for omni-channel marketing campaigns including text, email, direct mail, phone, and canvassing, and outcome analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability and hands-on experience independently writing complex SQL queries; experience must extend beyond executing or making minor edits to prewritten scripts.
Expertise building and using views, models, relational data structures, procedures, notebooks, and functions effectively employing joins, common table expressions, subqueries, aggregate and window functions, conditional logic, data-type handling and other SQL techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability and hands-on experience writing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Python scripts for data file manipulation, including structured file handling, validation, logging, and error handling.
  • Experience identifying process-automation opportunities and converting current-state workflows into clearly defined future-state requirements and maintainable solutions.
  • Ability to design automation controls and assess results using validation, exception handling, monitoring, alerts, recovery procedures, effort saved, error reduction, cycle time, adoption, reliability, and increased service capacity.
  • Demonstrated project-management skills, including requirements gathering, scope definition, work planning, milestone tracking, risk and dependency management, testing coordination, and status reporting.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional work without direct authority and move projects from an ambiguous business need to an implemented, documented solution.
  • Experience validating output from large data sets through record-level review, reconciliations, control totals, and comparison to business requirements.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate ambiguous data questions.
  • Ability to translate nontechnical requirements into query logic, explain data output analysis and conclusions to business stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability to prioritize multiple requests in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Clear written documentation practices and an organized approach to query files, definitions, assumptions, and revisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with minimal direct supervision.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
  • Experience using Snowflake tools and features like Workspaces and Notebooks.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools like Iterable.
  • Experience working with fundraising, direct mail, donor analytics, and nonprofit data.
  • Experience working with fundraising CRMs such as RevolutionCRM, Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, Raiser's Edge, or a similar platform.
  • Experience with reporting or analysis tools such as Tableau and advanced Excel functionality.
  • Experience supporting new or growing data-enabled services, products, or operational programs.
  • Experience automating recurring data preparation, validation, reporting, file generation, or operational workflows.
  • Familiarity with DBT, GitHub, scheduling tools, APIs, or other modern data and automation tools sufficient to develop governed analytical models and controlled workflows; software engineering expertise is not required.
  • Experience using project-management tools such as Asana and maintaining clear project plans, decision logs, or status reports.
  • Passion for supporting the mission of public media and nonprofit organizations.
Role Boundaries

The role is expected to recommend, develop, and implement improvements within the analytical and operational workflow layers using approved tools. It is not expected to build or administer enterprise source-data pipelines, manage Snowflake infrastructure, define enterprise architecture, or own database security. Those responsibilities remain with the appropriate technical teams, with whom this role partners closely.
