Job summary

Columbia University School of Nursing is seeking a Senior Data Manager to join a fast-paced research support team. You will manage RELATIONAL databases, design REDCap databases and Qualtrics surveys, and ensure data security and quality across federally funded studies.

The role involves collaborating with biostatisticians, training staff, and supporting dissemination through abstracts and manuscripts, with a 35-hour work week and a salary range of $80,000–$85,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience plus four years of related experience
• Experience in technology, information management, relational database management, data mining or statistics including programming
• Strong math skills and data management knowledge
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
• Experience with the tools and processes listed (REDCap, SQL, Python, R, STATA, SAS) and large data sets

Responsibilities

• Maintain database security, merging, storage, management and cleaning
• Ensure high quality data and data integrity
• Upgrade database systems to meet research needs
• Train students and staff in data management
• Prepare data for analysis and reporting with charts, graphs and tables
• Collaborate with research team members and biostatisticians
• Assist dissemination through abstracts and manuscripts
• Develop secure data transfer and de-identification processes for federal transfers
• Ensure compliance with Data Use Agreements
• Create center-wide data cleaning and quality checks
• Coordinate with IT for data transfer and storage
• Produce searchable data documents to guide research
• Perform other responsibilities as needed
