Job summary

Robinhood in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Lake Ingestion team. You will design and implement the next generation of hybrid ingestion systems using Apache Flink and Kafka to land curated datasets in S3, focusing on performance, schema evolution, and validation.

You will scale Rocket CDC pipelines, migrate legacy flows, and mentor teammates while partnering with Storage, Streaming Platform, and Governance to ensure secure access and high data quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building backend platforms or distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python with high-quality, maintainable code.
• Deep experience with relational databases (Postgres) and change data capture (CDC).

Responsibilities

• Design and scale CDC, snapshot, and streaming ingestion systems into the data lake.
• Improve pipeline reliability, scale, data quality, and monitoring to reduce lag.
• Develop self-service onboarding flows for databases and schemas.
• Collaborate with platform teams and data consumers to implement ingestion patterns.
• Implement access controls and PII-handling workflows to protect data.
