Job summary

Robinhood in Bellevue, WA is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Lake Ingestion team. You will design and implement next-gen hybrid ingestion systems, scale the Rocket CDC platform, and migrate legacy pipelines to modern architectures using Flink and Kafka to land data in S3.

You'll mentor engineers, define technical designs, and partner with Storage, Streaming Platform, and Governance teams to ensure secure data access and high data quality at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering for backend or distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python with high-quality code.
• Deep experience with CDC and streaming systems (Kafka, Flink, Spark).

Responsibilities

• Design and scale CDC, snapshot, and streaming ingestion systems for the data lake.
• Improve pipeline reliability, scale, data quality, and monitoring.
• Develop self-service onboarding flows for databases and schemas.
• Collaborate with platform teams and data consumers on ingestion patterns.
• Implement access controls and PII handling across ingestion lifecycle.
