Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery seeks a Data Integrity and Governance Manager in New York, NY to lead the data governance program and ensure data quality across Development operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information management, data analytics, business, information systems, or a related field.
• Five to seven years of experience in data quality, data governance, data stewardship, CRM data management, advancement operations, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional data-quality or governance work and driving corrective actions without direct reporting authority.
• Hands-on experience auditing, investigating, correcting, and improving complex data in a CRM or enterprise data environment.
• Experience developing and maintaining business rules, data definitions, standards, procedures, and governance documentation.
• Experience providing functional direction across teams without direct supervisory authority.
• Experience with Raiser's Edge NXT or comparable fundraising CRM preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, higher education, nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, or similar complex data environment preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data-preparation or BI tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead recurring audits of Development data and remediation plans.
• Perform hands-on review and cleanup of high-priority data issues including duplicates and incomplete coding.
• Maintain the data hygiene calendar, quality-control checkpoints, and escalation thresholds.
• Make decisions on data-quality exceptions and remediation methods with executive-level input as needed.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement preventive controls and training.
• Maintain a remediation backlog and report trends to senior leadership.
• Own governance framework maintenance, data dictionary, and metadata standards.
• Develop and enforce data rules, naming conventions, and data-maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate with Data Strategy & Insights and stakeholders to ensure compliance across departments.
