Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a senior database engineer in the United States to design, optimize, and operate large-scale Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments. You will implement AI-assisted automation, manage replication and availability groups, and partner with offshore teams to ensure reliable data services across time zones.

You will translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, drive performance improvements, and contribute to a diverse, inclusive team

Qualifications

• 7+ years managing enterprise databases in large-scale environments.
• Deep experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency with Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
• Experience designing and troubleshooting SQL infrastructure including Availability Groups.
• Knowledge of vector databases and retrieval workloads for AI/LLM.
• Scripting in PowerShell and ETL processes; familiarity with SQL Sentry.
• Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional and offshore teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide recommendations on data management, governance, and data utilization.
• Collaborate with offshore teams to resolve high-priority issues.
• Manage GAIA application pools and monitor databases for performance.
• Design and maintain monitoring/alerting software solutions.
• Troubleshoot SQL Server Availability Groups and replication issues.
• Handle certificate tracking/renewals and support PostgreSQL environments.
• Leverage AI tools to automate tasks and accelerate issue resolution.
• Coordinate with globally distributed teams to ensure coverage across time zones.
