Job summary

Archer, an aerospace company in San Jose, CA, seeks a Senior Staff Engineer to own and scale the Data Infrastructure powering Data Engineering and ML teams. You will push a self-service environment enabling data scientists to move from JupyterHub to large Ray clusters and Trino queries with zero manual touch.

You will lead data plane architecture, on-call reliability, and infrastructure optimizations, collaborating across teams to deliver robust, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience architecting and operating data infrastructure at scale.
• Strong collaboration with ML and data science teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and manage the lifecycle of data tools (Trino, Ray, JupyterHub on Kubernetes).
• Drive GitOps and automation with ArgoCD and Terraform for complex data environments.
• Build observability systems (VictoriaMetrics, Vector) to monitor pipelines and performance.
• Support ML lifecycle tooling (MLflow, JupyterHub) and optimize compute/storage integration.
