Job summary

Roblox Corporation in San Mateo, CA, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Infra team to design, build, and scale distributed data platforms powering analytics and product decisions.

You will own core platform components, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive robust infrastructure with Kubernetes across cloud environments. Candidates should have 5+ years in distributed systems and strong Java/Go/Scala skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building, designing, testing, and maintaining production-grade distributed systems.
• Experience with 1–2 foundational data platform technologies (Kafka, Flink, Spark, Trino, Druid, Airflow, or Data Catalog).
• Strong proficiency in Java, Go, or Scala.
• Cloud experience with Kubernetes on AWS or GCP.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and scale core data platform components within the stack.
• Collaborate with infra, data science, and product engineering teams.
• Optimize performance with focus on throughput and reliability.
• Lead design, testing, and operation of Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
• Embed AI/ML capabilities to enable autonomous, self-serve platform interactions.
