Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the storage team within the infra org. You’ll design, implement, and operate large-scale distributed storage services, including caching, message queues, and related infra, using container orchestration platforms.

You will lead development, improve reliability, work with partner teams, and help shape the next generation of product features. This role is based at our San Mateo, CA headquarters with on-site days.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent and at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
• Strong experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes orNomad and Consul for service discovery.
• Proficiency in Go, Java, or C++ and strong scripting skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and run internal Infra-as-a-Service offerings on container orchestration platforms.
• Improve and scale 24x7 distributed services with high availability and elasticity.
• Build frameworks to automate development, testing, cluster management and monitoring.
• Collaborate with partner teams, producing plans, metrics, milestones, and runbooks.
• Ensure high-quality, reusable code while maintaining site reliability.
• Influence strategy for next-generation features and system capabilities.
