Job summary

Sand Technologies is seeking a Senior Data Governance & Responsible AI Lead to establish and operationalize governance for the Baltimore Intelligence Center. You will define ownership, data quality, lineage, and AI governance processes to productionize trust and accountability across data products.

You will collaborate with city leadership, engineering, security, and legal teams to embed governance into delivery workflows, scale governance practices, and ensure sustainable operational ownership

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data governance or related leadership roles.
• Proven experience operationalizing governance in cross-functional environments.
• Strong knowledge of data ownership, metadata, lineage, and governance controls.
• Experience with cloud-based data/analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational data governance across data, analytics, and AI products.
• Establish governance workflows for ownership, approvals, and auditability.
• Embed governance processes into day-to-day delivery and decision-making.
• Coordinate governance across city agencies, leadership, and delivery teams.
• Lead metadata, catalog, and lineage governance initiatives.
• Oversee KPI definitions, semantic governance, and reporting standards.
• Manage AI governance workflows, risk review, and post-launch governance.
