Job summary

Alignment Health is expanding its data governance capabilities. The Principal, Data Governance Platforms defines the enterprise platform strategy for metadata, MDM, data quality, and lineage, aligning decisions with cloud architecture and security standards.

You will lead implementation and lifecycle operations, embed governance into data pipelines, enable automated workflows, and maintain observability and traceability across the analytics stack to support AI, reporting, and compliant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Business, Health Informatics, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred in a relevant technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Define technology architecture for governance capabilities: metadata, MDM, data quality, and lineage; align with cloud standards.
• Lead implementation of governance platforms: configuration, integration, testing, and go-live with engineering teams.
• Embed governance into data pipelines: enable data integration, transformation, and standardization with governance controls.
• Design automated governance workflows: data quality rules, lineage capture, MDM matching; reduce manual overhead.
• Maintain comprehensive lineage, observability, and audit readiness across data ecosystems.
• Establish technical standards and documentation for governance platforms and enable knowledge transfer to teams.
• Collaborate with data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture to integrate governance within the broader tech ecosystem.
