Job summary

Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst to lead data governance policy implementation within the FRFS Data Office and partner across platforms like Collibra and Informatica. This role will enforce governance standards, develop workflows, and drive data cataloging and lineage initiatives.

You will collaborate with data owners, map data structures, and participate in FRFS workgroups to advance data governance capabilities while ensuring security and privacy

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data governance or data management experience.
• Hands-on experience with data governance platforms (Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or similar).
• Experience with metadata management, data cataloging, and data lineage tools.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
• Knowledge of data security, privacy, and quality requirements.
• Collibra certification or professional data management certification (preferred).
• Scripting or programming experience (Python, JavaScript) for automation and platform customization (preferred).
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks) and modern data architecture (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and implement data governance policies, processes, and procedures aligned with business objectives.
• Enforce activities ensuring compliance with data governance policies and target goals.
• Configure and administer data governance platforms to operationalize workflows.
• Design governance workflows, approval processes, and stewardship assignments.
• Create and maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation.
• Maintain information maps, retention schedules, and data catalogs.
• Perform in-depth research and analysis to identify data quality issues, relations, and dependencies.
• Partner with data owners to map data structures, usage, and definitions within catalog platforms.
• Facilitate implementation of common data management practices across the organization.
• Participate in and may lead Federal Reserve System workgroups.
• Serve as knowledge resource for data governance best practices.
