Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro seeks a Senior Analyst, Data Governance to drive data governance initiatives, quality improvement, and policy development across the organization. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, lineage, and compliant handling of sensitive information.

Responsibilities include assessing data quality, managing metadata, and producing governance reports while supporting training efforts and data impact assessments for new projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field.
• CDMP and/or CDGP certifications are desirable.
• 2–4 years of experience preferred.
• Programming experience (Python, SQL).
• Experience with data integration and data virtualization tools such as AWS Glue, Informatica or Mulesoft.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.
• Proven data governance, data analysis, or related analytical experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with data quality tools and metadata management concepts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Data Quality Analysis: assess quality, identify discrepancies, and implement improvements.
• Metadata Management: maintain metadata repositories and document data lineage.
• Data Classification and Sensitivity: assist in classification and policy development.
• Data Governance Reporting: generate reports on governance metrics and provide insights.
• Data Privacy Compliance: support data protection compliance efforts.
• Data Governance Training: develop and deliver training on governance policies.
• Data Impact Assessments: participate in impact assessments for new projects.
